89 years open to all
Our 89th sarbojanin puja
Sri Hemchandra Bhattacharya first worshipped the nine forms of Ma Durga in his family shrine in 1932. In 1938, at the request of the neighbourhood, Sandhani Athletic Club of Jeliatola opened the puja to everyone. Counting from that first sarbojanin puja, Durga Puja 2026 is our 89th.
Every year since, the para has come together to keep the old rites with the same devotion. Eleven more pujas will bring us to our hundredth year.
